Learning to build multiple SaaS products, while building a community, to support my goal of owning a lifestyle business (ecosystems thinking)
Why start 10 businesses if you can create one that works as a unit and supports my lifestyle?
I’ve always had this itch. The inclination to ideate, to build, and more importantly, to bring ideas to their physical manifestation. Shall we call this creativity? Maybe curiosity? Maybe innocence…
Since picking up the guitar at age 13, I started to obsess about learning chords and mixing and matching them in untraditional ways. I also listened to a wide range of music and explored this curiosity all the way up until age 27.
And this force tends to come back more often than usual…this time, from a different vantage point.
Initially, I did want to learn how to code (the traditional way of building a SaaS), but as time would have it, this goal doesn’t quite mesh with my current output, time capacity and systems.
So let’s give the whole no-code venture a go. Devs don’t get angry, I might learn to code…eventually. Or, find a technical co-founder. Who knows?
Lots of no-code tools out there, but since Bubble.io has one of the stronger communities out there, I’ll choose it. Yes, I know vendor lock-in and the negatives of no-code tools, but I’m more keen on the positives and the process of experimentation than the end goal.
The Journey is the Reward
So why build a SaaS?
Apart from my curiosity (which is a difficult process for me to ignore!), I want to build multiple Minimum Viable Products for the Futurist Marketers Club. So each member gets to automatically have marketing tools, right within the community, reducing the fragmentation of having 100 tools and hiking up expenses for my peeps! I know the pain points of marketers inside-out, why not build tools to alleviate those pains myself?
Why now?
Intuition is the only word that comes to mind when answering this question. But…I’m at a career venture where I’ve gathered enough holistic experience, skills and courage to think/act beyond what is expected.
Some may call me crazy for working a job, freelance consulting, building Futurist Marketers, growing a YouTube channel, and now building a SaaS. But hey, what the mind can perceive, and truly believe, it can achieve.
Let’s see when I burnout 🤓
And when?
At exactly 5pm GMT today, I’ll start learning! It will be a weekly Friday routine for me and I Aim to do deep studying between 5pm - 7pm. I might even start to livestream these!
I want to make my own venture valuable for YOU, so as usual, I will distil any and all learnings I gain directly here and through Futurist Marketers (join the club if you haven’t).
Exciting times, let’s see where we are at by Q4 of this year. Peace 🙏
